Install on Linux

This page is for end users installing Remotle on their own Linux computer. To deploy Remotle to many computers, see Deploying the Client.

Check a Linux package against the SHA-256 shown beside it on the download page: https://softwaredownloads.oncomputle.com/download.

Install

Device	Package
Intel and AMD	computle-stream_amd64.deb
Arm, including Orange Pi 5, 5 Plus and 5 Pro	computle-stream_arm64.deb

Download the package for your device.

The file is named computle-stream_<version>_<arch>.deb, for example computle-stream_2026-10-11-2304_amd64.deb.
Open a terminal in the folder you downloaded to and install the package.

apt installs the package and anything it depends on, then enables and starts the update service, the USB sharing helper and kiosk terminal support.

On an Orange Pi 5, 5 Plus or 5 Pro, the package also turns on the Mali GPU for the desktop and for Remotle, and prints a line saying so. Restart the device once after installing to use it.
Open Computle (Remotle) from your applications menu and sign in.

The app is listed as Computle (Remotle). The first screen is the sign-in screen. See Sign In.

Use the terminal command above. It installs the dependencies the package needs as well as the package itself.

Only on an Orange Pi, once, so that the GPU is used. On other computers, open Computle (Remotle) straight away.
