Deploying the Client

This guide is for IT teams installing Remotle on many devices with Intune, Configuration Manager, Jamf or a script.

Install

Use the MSI: https://softwaredownloads.oncomputle.com/client-installers/latest/ComputleRemotleClient.msi

A newer MSI upgrades an older one. Installing an older MSI over a newer one is refused. The MSI removes earlier Computle clients first.

Setup.exe switches

The setup program also installs silently:

Switch	Action
`/quiet`	Install without a window. Running it again on the same version repairs the install.
`/uninstall`	Remove Remotle.
`KIOSK=0`	Leave out kiosk terminal support.

The setup log is written to %TEMP%\ComputleRemotleClient-<version>-setup.log.

Requires Ubuntu 26.04 or later, or Armbian on Orange Pi 5, 5 Plus and 5 Pro.

Update settings

Remotle updates itself. By default, updates install between 02:00 and 05:00 local time, never during a session. You can change the window and the channel.

/etc/computle-stream/update.conf, one Name=value per line, with the same names as Windows.

Turn off USB devices on a device

To stop a device sharing USB devices, set HKLM\SOFTWARE\Computle\Remotle\UsbRedirection (REG_DWORD) to 0. To control USB for the whole organisation, use Device Features instead.
